That said:
Woody thinks the way the issue is framed makes it seem that the two systems of energy generation--renewable/self-sustaining (i.e., solar) and the traditional petro and carbon-based combustibles.
But it's not necessarily an "all or nothing" contest, though cuz this is Murka, and the nation's been taken over by a bunch of tinhorn, no-limit gamblers who use us as counters in their obscene game,...you've been pretty much taught to believe it--like, say, in God, and othjer ineffables. We could devote a huge amount MOPRE resources to developing parallel, eventuall partial replacement technologies.
But the lords of the Universe are intent o0n using their self-fucking-generated crises to extort the last red cent from their "investments."
It is absurd that the gummiont does nto substantially underwrite the material costs and installation of solar panels on every building in america.
That such technology is still so rare, when so much has been known about it for so fucking long, is just fucking inexcusable.
If 'energy independence' and self-reliance is in fact a "top National Security priority," then the waste of the last 30 years is tantamount to treason, to the nation and to the whole fucking planet...
Butt-Fucking:
A piece in the Friday WaPo has captured some attention. In it it is reported that a "veto-proof majority" of senators--32 from each "party"--has jointly signed a letter requiring Shamwow to "lead" them into a bi-artisan assault on the earned benefits of poor Americans, presumably to be assuaged somewhat by provisions to raise some taxes on the rich. My reply:
America--and especially "poor" Americans--it is important that you know that there are at LEAST 60 Senators who are prepared to ass-fuck you til you bleed. These include some of your Dim luminaries, along with the usual shit-hole GOPukes. Ask YOUR senator if she or he is among them; "ultra-libs" Al Franken & Sherrod Brown are among them. Here's the complete list, which (to my utter, unspeakable disgust) includes BOTH NM's Senators:
John Kerry (D-MA), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Ron Wyden (D-OR), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Joseph Lieberman (ID-CT), Kay Hagan (D-NC), Mark Begich (D-AK), Thomas Carper (D-DE), Mark Udall (D- CO), Mark Pryor (D-AR), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Jon Tester (D-MT), Christopher Coons (D-DE), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Bill Nelson (D-FL), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Benjamin Cardin (D-MD), Al Franken (D-MN), Mary Landrieu (D-LA) , Kent Conrad (D-ND) , Mark Warner (D-VA), Richard Durbin (D-IL), Tom Harkin (D-IA), Herb Kohl (D-WI), Patty Murray (D-WA), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Jeff Bingaman (D-NM), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Tom Udall (D-NM) and Sherrod Brown (D-OH)
