The STOOPIT!: We, here in the USofA have a front-row seat to the spectacle of MORE of the STOOPITEST people than ever before, anywhere, ever, given a forum from which to spout REALLY STOOPIT SHIT, spouting really STOOPIT shit, seemingly without stop, at the top of their lungs, everywhere. The etymology of the word suggests just the opposite of the evident spirit of those possessed by it. "Stupid" historically meant "silent." We should BE so lucky.

BUt I wondered: What have the best minds in literary and political history had to say about "teh STOOPIT." It's CLEARLY played a SIGNIFICANT role in many momentous occasions.
